THE ASK
Grey Goose USA & BasketballNews.com hired Next Chapter to produce ‘Neat & Unfiltered’ with former NBA All-Star Kenyon Martin, Sr. and legendary rapper Jadakiss discussing sports and hip hop culture with their famous friends.
HOW WE HELPED
Next Chapter developed a video podcast series featuring hot take commentary and interviews with household name guests including Method Man, Michael Rapaport, Michael Eric Dyson & Roy Jones, Jr. We provided all video recording, editing, marketing, and social media support.
THE RESULTS
We launched the podcast series in November 2020 with a custom feature segment promoting Grey Goose’s holiday cocktail offering. Jadakiss joined as co-host including a viral video with 500K views discussing Kwame Brown controversy. Jadakiss and Kenyon often crossover between conversations on hip hop culture and reactions to each week’s NFL & NBA action.
THE ASK
Athlete And asked Next Chapter to design a podcast sharing stories of how athletes are more than the jerseys they wear or points they score, but the passions they pursue when they are off the field.
HOW WE HELPED
Next Chapter developed a podcast series featuring interviews with professional athletes including Todd Gurley, Marshawn Lynch, James Conner, Marlon Humphrey and Jaelan Phillips. We provided recording, editing, and podcast distribution support.
THE RESULTS
We launched the podcast series in March 2022 building upon a brand the NFLPA trademarked in 2018 to advance the goal of humanizing athletes. Each week, a new professional athlete joins NFL linebackers Brennan Scarlett and Brandon Copeland to share their ‘and’ discussing their off-the-field passions. For example, Todd Gurley discussed his pursuit of a music career.
THE ASK
BasketballNews.com hired Next Chapter to produce a podcast hosted by NBA legend and “King of Twitter” Rex Chapman alongside his friend, actor Josh Hopkins. The former McDonald’s All American and Kentucky Wildcat spent 12 seasons in the NBA as a player before becoming a social media sensation.
HOW WE HELPED
Next Chapter developed a video podcast series, supporting Rex & Josh with guest booking including Shaq, Steph Curry, and Isiah Thomas as well as preparing research materials, recording, editing, and marketing support to leverage Rex’s 1M+ twitter following.
THE RESULTS
We launched the podcast series in March 2021, and the show has been growing ever since. Rex and his actor friend Josh Hopkins provide an entertaining take on the week in basketball with a side of Hollywood talk as they interview celebrities to find out what makes them tick.
THE ASK
Himalaya hired Next Chapter to produce a video podcast hosted by NBA All Star player Caron Butler. The universally respected NBA Champion, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and activist brings a unique perspective after surviving a life of crime in his youth, and now sits down with accomplished and influential guests from the worlds of sports, entertainment, business, and activism to discuss how they achieved success.
HOW WE HELPED
Next Chapter was tasked to develop an video & audio podcast series featuring the success stories of Mark Wahlberg, James Carville, Dr. Michael Eric Tyson, Dwyane Wade, and Nick Young. We managed video shoots on site in LA & Chicago, providing guest prep, editing, marketing & social media support.
THE RESULTS
We launched the series in November 2019 with a revealing conversation with Master P and produced the remaining episodes with guests providing incredibly revealing, entertaining stories with Caron highlighting lessons learned.
THE ASK
The Players Coalition asked Next Chapter to produce their flagship podcast to focus on social justice and racial equity.
HOW WE HELPED
Next Chapter in collaboration with The Player Coalition wrote, edited, and produced an 8 episode season tackling hard hitting issues and featured professional athletes across all the major leagues. From police and community relations to voting each episode serves as a valuable resource for the Players Coalition to get their message to the public.
THE RESULTS
As a non-profit and advocacy organization, Players Coalition now has an ongoing platform to have authentic conversations with their constituents and beyond.
